Beneath the stars
Whispering sweet nothings
Summer night undisturbed

Walt is hosting this week’s edition of Tuesday Poetics: Summer Starter over at dVerse. Our challenge is to find inspiration from another poem about summer, using a line or word from that poem. I chose the haiku poem, Summer Night by Kobayashi Issa.

Summer Night
Even the stars
Are whispering to each other

Go visit us at dVerse for more information about this challenge and feel free to join us.

      1. Matsuo Basho of course was the one who created this wonderful form of poetry. Kobayashi Issa and a few others carried on his legacy.
I love haikus and senryus, you know that already. But maybe I havent told you yet that Japanese literature was my major in my Masters before I moved on to international relations for my doctorate. Let me quote one of my favorites by the master himself:
        Furu ike ya
        Kawazu tobitomi
        Mizu no oto

        An ancient pond
        A frog leaps in
        The sound of water!
🙂 You did brilliant, my dear friend . Feel proud
