Mourning Tears

Today, I met a crow
From the banister outside my window
With sorrowful eyes, it spoke to me

Your name lingered in the breeze
The memory of you in eternal slumber
A memory etched on my soul

So many years and so many tears
Why does this bird remind me of you?
Perhaps it’s the black cloak and deep set eyes

I’ve tried to forget the pain
Of losing you that night
Yet the ache in my heart
Keeps your memory alive

Here is another meter poem for dVerse. This time I used a longer meter to tell a story.
