Eva was trapped inside this prison. All sense of time was lost to her. She didn’t know how many days or even years had passed. She no longer wanted to continue this nightmare. But her only options were suicide or die by trying to survive.

Eva had to hurry before he came back. The board finally gave way after prying at it with her bloody fingers. There was enough space for her tiny frame. She slid herself out the window. Smiling up at the grey sky, Eva inhaled the heavy petrichor that lingered in the air. Now she was free.
